Jedes Jahr zur Eröffnung der Kieler Woche wird die Innenstadt komplett gesperrt. Aus reinem Spaß zog ich mir 2006 zum ersten Mal die Mickey Mouse Handschuhe an. Der Erfolg war überwältigend. Die Menschen lieben es und es bringt sie und die Polizei ein Stück näher. Seither regle ich den "Verkehr" mit diesen "Händen".  Angefangen hat das alles vor über 20 Jahren, als mein Sohn mir seinen "Kuschel-Dino" mitgab, damit der auf mich auspassen konnte. Dies Stofftier war ein Eisbrecher. Die Menschen sahen plötzlich nicht mehr nur die Polizei, sondern Menschen mit denen sie reden wollten. Seit dem habe ich immer wieder mal was "Verrücktes" gemacht und damit vielen Menschen Freude bereitet
Every year we have a grand opening party at the beginning of the Kiel Week and all streets to downtown are closed. Just for fun i dressed up with Mickey Mouse hands in 2006. The success of this "running gag" was stunning. The people go crazy when they see these "hands" and it was bringing us together. So, since that time I do the "traffic regulation" with these "hands". It all startet over 20 years ago, when my little son gave me his Dinosaur Toy. That cosy animal should protect me. So I put him on the Dashboard of my car and it was a true Icebreaker. People suddenly recognized, that there were Humans not just Officers. Many people started to talk to me. Since those days I had some "crazy" ideas every year. That made a lot of people happy
