Die sogenannte „Alte Paffel-Pappel“ im Tiergehege Hasseldieksdamm ist ein monumentales Naturdenkmal. Ihr exaktes Alter ist in den offiziellen Baumregistern der Stadt Kiel nicht genau dokumentiert. Aufgrund ihres mächtigen Stammumfangs schätzen Experten und Baumkundige das Alter dieses Baumes jedoch auf etwa 150 bis über 200 Jahre.

The so-called ‘Old Paffel Poplar’ in the Hasseldieksdamm wildlife enclosure is a monumental natural monument. Its exact age is not precisely documented in the official tree registers of the city of Kiel. However, based on its massive trunk circumference, experts and arborists estimate the tree to be between 150 and over 200 years old.
